Ingredients

  • 3–4 medium zucchini, sliced into thin rounds

  • 1 tsp salt (for sweating zucchini)

  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • ½ cup heavy cream

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 large egg

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning

  • Optional: ¼ tsp red pepper flakes


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish.

  2. Toss zucchini with salt and let sit 10–15 minutes. Pat very dry with paper towels (important to avoid watery bake).

  3. In a bowl, whisk heavy cream, egg, garlic, pepper, and Italian seasoning.

  4. Layer zucchini in the baking dish. Pour cream mixture evenly over zucchini.

  5. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan over the top.

  6. Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes until golden and bubbly.

  7. Broil for 2–3 minutes if you want a crisp top. Rest 5 minutes before serving.
