High-Protein “Better Than Sex” Cake

Here’s a high-protein version of the decadent “Better Than Sex Cake” — indulgent, creamy, and loaded with protein 💪🍰

This version keeps the rich layers but boosts protein using Greek yogurt, protein powder, and cottage cheese.

🛒 Ingredients (Serves 8–10)

🍫 Cake Layer

  • 1 cup oat flour (or whole wheat flour)

  • ½ cup cocoa powder

  • 1 scoop (25–30g) chocolate protein powder

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 2 eggs

  • ½ cup unsweetened applesauce (or ¼ cup butter/oil)

  • ½ cup milk (dairy or unsweetened almond milk)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • ¼–⅓ cup sweetener

🍓 Cream Layer

  • ½ cup low-fat cream cheese or blended cottage cheese

  • ½ cup plain Greek yogurt

  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder

  • 1–2 tbsp sweetener

  • ½ tsp vanilla

🍫 Topping

  • 2–3 tbsp cocoa powder or melted high-protein chocolate

  • Optional: crushed high-protein cookies, chopped nuts, or dark chocolate chips


👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch pan.

2️⃣ Make Cake
In a bowl, combine oat flour, cocoa powder, protein powder, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl, mix eggs, applesauce, milk, vanilla, and sweetener.
Fold wet into dry until smooth. Pour into pan and bake 18–22 minutes. Let cool.

3️⃣ Prepare Cream Layer
Whisk cream cheese (or cottage cheese), Greek yogurt, protein powder, sweetener, and vanilla until smooth.

4️⃣ Assemble Cake

  • Poke small holes in cooled cake with fork or skewer.

  • Spread cream layer over the cake.

  • Drizzle cocoa or melted high-protein chocolate on top.

  • Sprinkle optional crushed protein cookies, chocolate chips, or nuts.

5️⃣ Chill
Refrigerate 1–2 hours before serving for best texture.
